Communications Specialist, Assistant Secretary for Health, the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General
Amber Channer is Communications Specialist for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and serves as the Communications liaison for the Office of Minority Health. Prior to joining the Department of Health and Human Services, she conducted research at NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center and later at Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute. Amber also served as a Public Health fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention working with the Capacity Building Branch to help reduce the HIV infection burden among high-risk and racial/ethnic minority populations across the nation. Amber received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Boston College and her Masters of Science from Hampton University.
