Kate Meissner is Head of External Affairs for Edelman U.S., where she is responsible for Edelman’s external narrative and the incubation of new business strategies. Prior to joining Edelman, Kate was a member of Axios’ founding executive team, where she oversaw client partnerships and marketing as VP of Business Development. Her work supported rapid growth, reaching $35M in revenue in Axios’ third year of operations. Prior to Axios, Kate oversaw corporate development at Politico during the company’s initial joint venture with Axel Springer. Kate began her career at Avascent, a boutique management consulting firm with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Her interest in the business of media began during her college years at Washington University in St. Louis, where she served as publisher and editor-in-chief of the award-winning Student Life. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband and 2-year old son.
